Tell us about how you started Ruck and Sandbag training or events (if applicable)
My husband told me about rucking when we were dating, and after we got engaged, we did a 12-mile Star Course (City Ruck) together. I loved it, but the longer and more intense events seemed intimidating and unattainable.
It wasn’t until a couple years later – a few months after having our first child – that I found Joe Baker. He made the unattainable seem attainable.
Most Memorable Event or Fitness achievement?
Placing 4th overall at a three day international jousting tournament in Colorado.
What are you training for?
To set a good example for my son, and to be better at my job as a firefighter.
As far as events go, I am currently training for the 9/11 HTB in September.
Tell us about why you train with The Bakery?
Having a community of awesome and encouraging people is priceless on any fitness journey. Pair that with Joe Baker and his killer workouts, and it is the best program I have come across.
What drives you in your fitness journey?
Being a better mom and firefighter, and being better than I was yesterday.
If you could set one fitness-related world record, what would it be?
Longest trail run, or longest horse-back trail ride.
If you could train with any athlete (past or present), who would it be and why?
Honestly, I have never been around as many incredible athletes as I have in The Bakery. So, I’m going to say, all of them! I wish we could meet in person more often, but I will settle with being in The Bakery with them.
What’s the best piece of fitness advice you’ve ever received?
“If you’re not getting better, you’re getting worse.”
