A Little About Me
My name is Joe, and I own and operate Joe Baker Fitness.
My goal is to teach you about nutrition and fitness, specializing in rucking, ruck training, and sandbag training. Change takes more than just following a recipe or training routine. That’s why I provide one-on-one coaching to uncover and overcome your mental and physical barriers. Together, we will identify anything that is keeping you from achieving your goals and design a program specifically tailored to your needs.

My Fitness Journey
My journey began in early 2013. Determined to start the new year right, I stepped on the scale and was shocked to see 189 pounds. At 5’10”, I knew this was unhealthy. I had spent years eating junk food and living for the weekends.
I tried the usual fixes: new diets, gym memberships, and so on. But my efforts would come and go because I lacked the knowledge and discipline to make lasting changes.
In late 2015, I joined a support group with similar interests. By the grace of God, I found an excellent group of men who changed my life.
In this group, I was challenged to look inward and ask myself tough questions. Through self-examination and discussions, I discovered my passion for helping others. I also learned valuable leadership skills. I want to help others with leadership, discipline, and pushing the body and mind to their limits.
This renewal of my body and mind ignited a desire to help others experience what I had gained. As a result, I started training family and friends, and Joe Baker Fitness was born.

– Crowned GORUCK Team Assessment Open Champions with Mark Guenther
– Completed 2 GORUCK Double Heavies
– Finished 7 GORUCK HTLs
– Secured 1st Place in the GORUCK 50 Mile Star Course (Charlotte, NC)
– Undertook 2 GORUCK Selection Attempts
– Achieved 2 Spartan Trifecta Weekends in West Virginia
– Fought to a Top 10 finish at the Rally in the Valley Hybrid Competition
– Participated in 2 200+ Mile Relay Races
– Achieved a Top 5 finish at the Swamp Fox Adventure Race
– Earned 1 Gold and 1 Bronze in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Competitions
Why Do I Do This?
When I see people come out of bad situations and take control of their lives, I am deeply satisfied. It is inspiring to witness transformations that lead to real change and open new doors.
I love people and believe everyone has a breakthrough story just around the corner. Often, we just need a guide, someone who can provide clarity and a plan for achieving our goals. Whether through traditional fitness methods or incorporating ruck and sandbag training, I would love the opportunity to be that guide for you.
